Hello

My name is John Thomas, and woodworking has been a part of my life since I was 14 years old.

What started in a high school shop class quickly became a lifelong passion. While other hobbies came and went, woodworking remained a constant. Over the years, I spent countless hours learning the craft, refining my techniques, and developing a deep appreciation for quality hardwoods and the craftsmanship required to create products that stand the test of time.

That passion eventually became West Texas Wood Shop.

My Story

Today, I specialize in handcrafted hardwood cutting boards designed for everyday use, meaningful gifts, and corporate branding opportunities. What may seem like a simple kitchen tool to some is, to me, an opportunity to create something that combines beauty, durability, and function. Every board is built with careful attention to detail and a commitment to quality that reflects the values of true craftsmanship.

I believe a quality cutting board should be more than just a surface for food preparation. It should be a piece that becomes part of family traditions, client appreciation programs, employee recognition gifts, and special occasions. Whether it’s used in a home kitchen or presented as a premium branded gift, a well-crafted cutting board leaves a lasting impression.

Every cutting board is made from carefully selected hardwoods and finished by hand to ensure exceptional quality and consistency. From individual gifts to large corporate orders, I take pride in delivering products that represent both my craftsmanship and your brand with excellence.

What began as a hobby in a high school shop class has grown into a business built on quality, reliability, and attention to detail. My goal is simple: create cutting boards that people are proud to give, proud to receive, and proud to use for years to come.

Thank you for supporting West Texas Wood Shop and allowing me to share a passion that has been with me for most of my life.
